Employees Celebrate Milestone Anniversaries

Advantus Health Partners is excited to celebrate significant work anniversaries for two team members, totaling more than a century of experience.

Gloria Ruffin celebrates 51 years in supply chain

Gloria Ruffin is celebrating 51 years of dedication to supply chain within the Bon Secours Mercy Health ministry and Advantus Health Partners. Gloria started working as a secretary at DePaul Hospital when it was owned by the Daughters of Charity in 1971. Since that time, she has served in many different positions, but always within supply chain. Her roles have included OR inventory analyst, buyer analyst and capital buyer. Now, Gloria works as a senior buyer and interacts with end-users and managers at various sites in Virginia, Ohio, South Carolina and Kentucky.

Gloria’s team members rave about working with her. “Others around her have a lot of respect for her and even look to her for guidance,” shares Susan Alexander, procurement manager at Bon Secours Mercy Health. “She has built lasting relationships here and enjoys getting to know everyone that she works with.”

“Gloria has a wealth of knowledge and is always willing to learn new things and adapt to changes,” says Chris Lawson, system director, Procurement at Bon Secours Mercy Health.

Ray Harmon marks his 50th work anniversary

Ray Harmon is celebrating 50 years of service to the Bon Secours Mercy Health ministry and Advantus Health Partners. During his time here, Ray has worked as a dietary tray-line associate, dietary storeroom supervisor, warehouse associate and receiver at St. Charles Hospital. Today, Ray serves as supply chain technician at Mercy Health – St. Charles Hospital.

“Ray’s a model employee. He comes to work every day, takes pride in the work he does, wants to serve his community and our clinicians, is always seeking out process improvement ideas and is open to change,” says Jeremy Neller, supply Chain Manager at Bon Secours Mercy Health. “That last part can’t be overstated, as health care is ever changing. He’s been a mentor to new employees and has taken on an informal role of the ‘department dad’ to the younger crew.”

Ray has seen the organization evolve to pursue its mission and reflects positively on his time spent here. “In the past 50 years, I have seen a lot of changes, and all have been good,” shares Ray. “I’ve met a lot of nice and interesting people here. Best of all, I met my lovely wife working here!”

Thank you, Gloria and Ray, for everything you do for our organization and being part of our success over the years. We are glad you chose to join us for such a significant part of your careers.
