Gartner Announces Ranking of the Healthcare Supply Chain Top 25 for 2025
CINCINNATI, Ohio (Nov. 19, 2025) — Gartner, Inc. has released their 2025 Supply Chain top companies ranking and Bon Secours Mercy Health, whose supply chain function is powered by Advantus Health Partners, has been ranked #3 for the second year in a row among leading health care organizations for their supply chain leadership.
This ranking highlights health systems that demonstrate industry-leading operational performance and leverage supply chain as a strategic advantage to improve cost, quality, resilience and clinical outcomes.
Bon Secours Mercy Health earned top marks across Gartner’s evaluation criteria, including a perfect 10 out of 10 in sustainability and risk management, reflecting excellence in cost management, digital enablement and cross-functional clinical collaboration. As recognized by Gartner, these capabilities position Bon Secours Mercy Health among the nation’s leaders shaping the future of modern, mission-aligned healthcare supply chain.
The ranking is based on a combination of quantitative data and qualitative insights. Quantitative metrics reflect historical performance and highlight links between financial health, operational results and supply chain effectiveness. The qualitative, opinion-based component evaluates leadership across the value chain and tangible supply chain achievements, key factors for inclusion in the Top 25. These two dimensions are then integrated to create an overall composite score.
The top three themes for this 17th annual ranking by Gartner include: Resurgence of Cost Management, Accelerating the Digital Supply Chain and Expanding Clinical Collaboration Initiatives. In these three areas, Gartner is looking at these categories because these areas drive both resilience and value in health care operations. Effective cost management helps organizations navigate economic and supply disruptions while optimizing spending. Digital supply chain adoption enables efficiency, visibility and predictive decision-making through AI, automation and modernized systems. Clinical collaboration ensures supply strategies directly support patient care, reducing waste and aligning costs with quality outcomes. Together, these focus areas reflect how health care leaders are prioritizing financial stability, operational agility and clinical impact.
