Advantus Health Partners Expands Options with Alliance Cost Containment Partnership

Indirect procurement firm fills important supply gaps

Cincinnati, Ohio and Louisville, KY (May 09, 2024) — Advantus Health Partners announced a new strategic collaboration with indirect expenses and supplier management experts, Alliance Cost Containment (ACC). ACC is an award-winning procurement firm that specializes in printing services, telecom, Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) and other indirect business needs. In addition to procurement, sourcing, and project support, ACC focuses on unique supplier challenges not addressed by most Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs). ACC also brings new relationships to Advantus Health Partners.

“ACC picks up where most GPOs leave off. Essential office and business supplies drive up costs and create extra work for hospital and health system supply chain teams,” said Dan Hurry, president of Advantus Health Partners. “By adding ACC to our strategic partnerships, we bring a higher level of service to our health care clients and capture more value.”

Based in Louisville, Kentucky with five satellite offices throughout the U.S., ACC has expertise in many indirect business expense areas, as well as deep supplier and health care relationships. ACC’s experts leverage volume and relationships to provide buying power on a national scale. Organizations see savings of 7–35% across common expense categories that often fall outside the scope of a traditional GPO.

“Health care is changing fast, necessitating that higher quality and lower costs go hand-in-hand,” said Miles Lee, CEO of ACC. “By introducing Advantus to our network, we can drive value for our clients, and help existing Advantus members lower costs. We are excited to help the Advantus network cover purchasing areas that their existing GPOs cannot.”
