Why did you choose your area of specialty and what do you find rewarding?
I’ve always been drawn to service roles. I find it very rewarding to make a difference in patient lives and the care that is provided to them by our physicians and clinical staff without being in a clinical role myself. For someone who did not want to be patient-facing, but wanted to help people, this role provided the perfect opportunity for me to do something meaningful.
What are you most excited for in your future at Advantus Health Partners?
I’m most excited to see how we can structure, standardize, and mobilize our processes to be offered to new hospitals and health systems and become one of the most respected and successful leaders in health care.
Have you had a specific mentor or role model now or previously that has impacted your personal or professional life?
My mom has always been my personal role model. She taught me to be strong, kind, honest and I strive to have her patience. She is always working and staying busy and loves every minute, so my work ethic is also a reflection of her example.
What would you tell other women earlier in their supply chain career that you think would be particularly valuable for them to know?
In my experience, I encourage women to cultivate good working relationships and trust with their co-workers, customer base, and vendors. That solid base will help hold them accountable which will also gain their support for conversions, process changes and difficult conversations. It is also important to provide consistent, relative value in all their communications.
