Advantus honored for sustainability efforts

Advantus Health Partners is proud to contribute to a healthier world through various sustainability efforts. These efforts strive to improve the wellness of mind, body and spirit while strengthening our relationship with the physical world.

Just recently, Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH) was recognized by Practice Greenhealth as one of just 10 “System for Change” honorees. The award is given to those health systems who are working cohesively to set system-wide sustainability goals, track performance data, benchmark, and support intra-organizational learning and implementation within their institutions.

Individual facility awards for Bon Secours Mercy Health locations were also numerous with 31 hospitals receiving either “Greenhealth Partner for Change” or “Partner Recognition” awards. The “Greenhealth Partner for Change” award recognizes superior performance in environmental sustainability, covering a range of different sustainability programs and activities.

Advantus Health Partners is thankful to support their efforts in Practice Greenhealth membership and data submission. Representing the sustainability work at BSMH, Advantus Health Partners also had a presence at the CleanMed Conference in May, an event put on by Practice Greenhealth and Healthcare Without Harm. As we look to the future, we hope to speak more on investing in communities through sustainable procurement.

Sustainability not only helps our environment but can also help improve the health of communities that are poorer and under-served. As part of our commitment to aid these communities, Advantus Health Partners is excited to further expand our sustainability efforts in the future.
